ABOUT ME


Dan Silva, is a music composer born in Madrid in 1976 and raised in Tenerife, Canary Islands. His career is defined by three different fields, between the production of modern music for artists and TV ads, video game music and soundtrack composition.


As a composer, he has had the opportunity to compose music for numerous local, national and international groups and artists, such as Claritzel Miyares, Soul Sanet, K-Narias, Edu del Prado, Miss Nine or Bob Baldwin, north american keyboardist who included his song “Take my Hand” on his "New Urban Jazz 2008” album, including collaborations with the likes of Frank McComb, or Jocelyn Brown herself, with her world classic song “Somebody Else's Guy”. Simultaneously, Dan Silva has kept an independent solo artist career inside the Soul/Funk/RnB field, having published one solo album under the name of “ Reason to Be” and two singles: “Elevate” and “Planetary Girl”.


At the same time, and since 2000, he delved into the composition of orchestral music and soundtrack, creating music for short films by different canarian directors, such as Iván López with "Cosas que Olvidamos",  Armando Ravelo with the short film "Payaso", or Enrique Carrasco with the documentary "Gonsalvus, a canary at the Kunstkammer".


TV advertisements, have been another field for his creativity, having made several musics for well recognized national brands. 


In 2019 he premiered a full soundtrack for his first feature film with “Platón”, again by Tenerife director Iván López.


Also, Dan Silva has a long career in music composition for video games, creating music with the company Promineo Studios, for the intellectual properties of Mattel, Disney and Garfield, and in most recent years for one of the top 3 leading companies in games for mobile platforms, Tactile Entertainment, working on titles like Lily's Garden, Penny and Flo, Cookie Cats, or Bee Brilliant. 


SInce 2020 to 2025, Dan has involved with the international Horror and Sci-Fi film festival  “Isla Calavera Ciudad de La Laguna”, being the official composer of the musics and promos of the festival and also composing and singing in two consecutive years  at the Opening Gala at Teatro Leal of la Laguna city.
